About

About Teri

Teri Mickle and JD

With 20 years of experience in education, Teri Mickle is a dedicated advocate for students, teachers and families. As an education professional and mom to three busy West Shore students, she understands firsthand the importance of strong schools and the impact they have on our community. Married to a coach, Teri has seen how strong academics and extracurricular opportunities work together to shape well-rounded students.

Throughout her career, Teri has focused on access to education, both personally and professionally. Her work has focused on creating partnerships between academic institutions to expand educational opportunities for students while addressing issues like financial barriers and accessibility. In her spare time, Teri advocates for Pennsylvania’s public schools as a Public Education Champion with Education Voters of PA. She believes in transparency, fiscal responsibility and collaboration between schools, parents, and the community. Her experience in career outcomes and public education advocacy, as well as her active role as a parent in the district, have prepared her to bring fresh ideas and practical solutions to the school board.

As a school board member, Teri will prioritize academic excellence, teacher support and access to the resources students need to succeed. She is ready to work to make a difference for our schools, our students, and our future.

Teri lives in New Cumberland with her husband Dan (Red Land ’92), children Morgan, Lily, and JD, rescue dog, Gryff, and yellow-bellied slider, Krack.

Priorities

STRENGTHEN

Strengthen Parent, School and Community Relationships—Improving communication, transparency, and engagement creates stronger connections between families, schools and our district.

SUPPORT

Support Teachers and Staff—Advocate for fair funding, professional development, and a respectful work environment so they can focus on what matters most—our students

PRIORITIZE

Prioritize Smart Budgeting—Ensuring that resources directly support student learning while maintaining fiscal responsibility and long-term sustainability.

IMPLEMENT

Implement Full-Day Kindergarten - West Shore is the only school district in York Country without FDK. Let’s change that to support academic outcomes and working families.
